I have to admit, I’m happy to notch my first win. I took the fight seriously and trained hard. Saturday night the hard work paid off with a victory.

Steve was tough like I knew he’d be. I feel I could’ve given a better performance than I did but I’m not going to beat myself up too much over it. I know I need to improve in several areas and I’ll be back to training hard in 8 days. Steve hung in there until the bitter end after showing great whiskers in every round. I felt he got a bit desperate at the end but I didn’t take enough advantage from the top.

In any case, it provided me with some much needed cage experience in the big show. Right now, that’s probably what I needed the most to improve and show even more of my game next fight. Hopefully, I will get another fight as soon as November. I’m excited about my future challenges and opportunities.
