Well, I wasn’t able to bring it back this time. Despite the loss I believe I was able to show that I am an immediate threat to the division and a title hopeful with adequate preparation. I hope the UFC enjoyed my work.

Thanks to everybody who backed me and believed in me.

The trip itself was kind of fun. I got to sign posters and stuff and got my picture taken. I ended up getting a fight poster so that was neat. Met a bunch of fighters and UFC folks. The hotel was really nice with very comfortable beds. Starbucks closed too early everyday because we were downtown but the hotel had their drip coffee. mmmm….. Well… that’s a wrap. I will update from time to time as things develop.

Chris, you really showed your stuff in this fight. It looked like you had that triangle and would have subbed him had time not run out. It will always frustrate me how the UFC’s rules give an advantage to an American wrestler. I don’t exactly see how laying and praying on your opponent gives you the advantage. You were pressing the fight. You landed some good punches and knees and you almost submitted him. I think that fans want to see fights end and the UFC should take Pride FC’s position on the issue. If nothing is happening on the ground, stand the fight back up. Again, great effort and I can’t wait to see you back in the UFC!!!

  2. James Says:

    You’re a warrior Chris!

Great showing, I can’t wait to see who the UFC lines up for you next!

  3. Sam Says:

You looked good man. You cracked him a number of times in the first round as you had the far better stand up. I thought you won the first round and if it wasnt for you slipping in the second I thought you could have kept it on your feet a bit longer and gave him some trouble.

I’m all for you fighting Hazelett next. I think that fight would be sweet.

    Good job.

  4. Kris Says:

Great fight. A little more time at the end and you would have had him!
Proud to be a fan! Can’t wait to see the next one.

  5. MC Says:

Heck of an effort Chris. Good luck in the effort.

  6. MC Says:

Whoops, meant to say good luck in the future.

  7. Daren S. Says:

    Hey Chris,

Great fight. Watched it down at the City Bar and the whole place was cheering for you. Great fight and I have to agree that you would have finished him with the triangle if you had a little more time. I’m not sure if you had the first time in the octagon nerves as you looked pretty calm and collected. Hopefully they’ll get you back in there soon and you can showcase your skills again.

  8. Josh Says:

Chris, I think you were wonderful in your first fight in the UFC. Very Savyy on the ground and on the feet this mis direction game was working for the most part. I thought Fitch never got comfortable in the cage and it showed as your were both elusive and extremely dangerous with the knees. On the ground, while he employed his position game and played the top very well as he always does……In closing, you had a great first performance in the cage and were very competitive with one of the best.
